Cathaoirleach Reception for Caroline Faulkner

 

The Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Cllr. Ciaran Brogan honoured Ms. Caroline Faulkner, outgoing Senior Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for Pramerica Systems Ireland at a special reception at Letterkenny Public Service Centre on Thursday evening last.

 

 

Caroline Faulkner has been recently named as the Chief Operating Officer of a new organisation within US based Prudential Financial Inc (PFI) and this will see her relocating to PFIs global headquarters in Newark, N.J. USA in April.

 

 

Cllr Brogan paid tribute to Caroline and to Pramerica acknowledging their contribution to the county and not only from a jobs perspective but also highlighting the many charitable works that they have undertaken.

 

 

Caroline Faulkner joined PFI in 2000 and was a member of the management team that founded Pramerica Systems Ireland, Limited, which has grown from 35 employees to more than 1,300 currently. Pramerica is a business and technology operations subsidiary of PFI. She also led the development of the newly created Prudential Business & Technology centre in El Paso, Texas.

 

 

Recently named in the top 25 key people influencing Ireland’s Fintech revolution and listed in the Business & Finance magazine top 100 CEOs in Ireland, she is also a member of Queen's University Management School International Advisory Board, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Ireland-US Council, the European Research Board and the CIO Executive Council. In 2014, she was named one of Computerworld magazine’s Premier 100 IT Leaders and was cited by Profiles in Diversity magazine on its list of "Women Worth Watching."

 

 

Caroline holds a degree in Computing Science for Business from the University of Ulster, a Master’s degree in ‘Leadership and Innovation’ from the Institute of Technology, Letterkenny and a diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

 

 

Caroline will be succeeded in Pramerica by Ciaran Harvey, VP Operations who is currently on secondment as site executive in El Paso Texas

 

 

Ciaran who is a native of Letterkenny, will oversee the delivery of software and professional business services to Prudential’s business units and corporate centre functions. He will also continue to be the accountable executive for the Prudential El Paso Business & Technology Solutions Centre.

 

 

Prior to his role as Site Executive for Prudential El Paso, Mr. Harvey was Vice President for Operations and Systems at Pramerica Systems Ireland Limited, where he was responsible for the company’s contact centre, business processing, and information technology support functions. He also oversaw a financial, legal and compliance services department for multiple businesses and corporate groups across Prudential. Previously, Mr. Harvey was a senior software development manager in the Systems Department. Mr. Harvey joined Pramerica as part of the original start-up management team in 2000, when Pramerica was first established. 

 

 

Before joining Pramerica, he was a Software Development Manager for Eircom, the national telecoms company based in Dublin, Ireland and subsequently for International Test Technologies. Mr. Harvey has a BEng Honors degree in Electronic Systems from the University of Ulster and an MBA in International Business from Queens University Belfast.

 

 

The Mayor of Letterkenny Cllr. Gerry McMonagle and Chief Executive of Donegal County Council Seamus Neely also spoke at reception and thanked Caroline for all her support and assistance over the last number of years.  They also welcomed the incoming Chief Informations Officer Ciaran Harvey and stated that they are looking forward to continuing to work closely with Pramerica in the coming years.
